Devin Booker has been a fixture in the Valley since joining the Phoenix Suns as the No. 13 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kentucky.
The four-time All-Star has fully embraced Arizona, often spending summers in Flagstaff for rest and reflection. Known for his charitable efforts in the community, Booker once again made a meaningful impact — this time, in a spontaneous and heartwarming way.
While driving his 1971 blue Chevy K5 Blazer, Booker came across two kids running a small roadside stand offering food and drinks. Curious, he pulled over to see what they were up to.
Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker donates to Almost There Rescue
The children were fundraising for Almost There Rescue, a local nonprofit focused on “saving mama dogs and their puppies, providing care and enrichment and finding them loving, permanent homes.”
The stand featured homemade banana chips, water, Gatorade and soda. Booker picked up some banana chips and an orange Gatorade, then handed over two bills as a donation.

Both kids were in awe and appreciated Booker’s gesture.

As Booker climbed back into his Chevy, the boy recognized the Suns’ star guard.
“Are you Devin Booker?” the boy asked. “I’m like your biggest fan. Nice to meet you.”
“I am,” Booker said with a smile. “My man. Give me some (He gave the boys a fist bump). Nice to meet you too. You guys keep doing what you’re doing.”
Booker drove off as the kids jumped with excitement.
“Can’t beat it, can’t beat it,” Booker said, as the video ended.
