Two men described as prominent South American Theft Group members and suspected of stealing nearly $4 million worth of cargo from San Fernando Valley storage facilities have been arrested, authorities announced this week.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Cargo Theft Unit detectives served search warrants at the storage facilities during the past week, which led to the arrests of 41-year-old Oscar David Borrero-Manchola and 25-year-old Yonaiker Rafael Martinez-Ramos, police said.
The suspects were booked at the Van Nuys Jail, police said. Martinez-Ramos was being held on a no-bail warrant, while Borrero-Manchola was booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property, then cited and released, police said.
