Sportico released a list of the top-100 highest-paid athletes of all time, with the men and women of the list pulling in $6.2 billion last year.

No one came anywhere close to Michael Jordan though, who is still earning massive amounts of money 20 years after his retirement.

It is estimated that Jordan made $300 million just last year, with his iconic shoe brand still being extremely popular.

Jordan’s all-time earnings since entering the NBA in 1984 have reached $3 billion, which boosts to $4.15 billion when inflation is factored in, according to Sportico.

Those billions of dollars put Jordan ahead some of the biggest names in sporting history like Tiger Woods, Christiano Ronaldo, and LeBron James.

Woods came in second behind Jordan on the earnings list.

Despite playing in just 12 tournaments in 2024, he still has quite the revenue stream.

Woods had a successful partnership with Nike, paying him $500 million, but he split from the company to start his own brand, Sun Day Red.

His merchandising revenue, endorsements, and tournament winnings have combined to place his earnings at $1.91 billion.

That is $2.79 billion when adjusted to inflation.

Ronaldo and James are the two active athletes that follow close behind to Woods.

Ronaldo has numerous lucrative sponsorships and is playing on a massive contract for Al Nassr.

His career earnings are at $1.83 billion, adjusted to $2.23 billion for inflation.

James also has loads of sponsorship deals, notably working with Nike.

He has spent 20 years in the NBA and earned multiple max contracts along the way.

His career earnings come in at $1.49 billion, boosted to $1.88 billion for inflation.

Joining them on the list includes names like Lionel Messi, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and David Beckham.

The only names in the top 10 of all-time earnings that didn’t play basketball, golf, or soccer are Roger Federer and Floyd Mayweather.
