Leeds forward Patrick Bamford played conductor to Leeds fans in a chant calling Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder a ‘w*****’.
Bamford and his teammates continued their celebrations after Leeds secured their promotion back to the Premier League on Monday.
Leeds are back in the big time two years after being relegatedGetty Bamford and Leeds fans couldn’t resist aiming an abusive dig at WilderA 6-0 thumping of Stoke City, plus Sheffield United’s defeat at Burnley means that both Leeds and Burnley claim the automatic promotion spots in the Championship.
Sheffield United can still get the final promotion place but will have to do so via the play-offs instead.
It’s party time at Elland Road though with Leeds players enjoying their promotion with fans outside the club’s iconic home ground.
However, some footage of Tuesday’s celebrations saw Bamford rub it in Blades boss Wilder’s face.
The video shows Bamford chant, ‘Du, du du…’ before the Leeds fans nearby finished the lyrics by shouting: “Wilder is a w*****.”
This is a chant that may be six years in the making when Wilder was the one lauding it over Leeds and Bamford.
Wilder guided Sheffield United to automatic promotion to the Premier League during the 2018/19 season with Yorkshire rivals Leeds being forced to settle for play-offs.
He was in no mood to congratulate Leeds for their efforts, as he said: “We’ve had one defeat in 13 and I’ve got muppets from Leeds talking about the pressure being on us.
“[Patrick] Bamford and [Adam] Forshaw and a couple of others saying ‘it’s over to you’ and this, that and the other.
“They got beat seven times since Christmas. We’ve been beaten once. We’ve set it up from Christmas to be in the race and we’ve steamrolled it.
Wilder isn’t popular with Leeds players and fansGetty“After the international break, two points a game. That’s promotion form right the way through in the pressure part of the season.
“Listen, don’t mention anything about bottle and b******s or about us dipping out.”
Leeds failed to join Sheffield United in the Premier League as they lost in the semi-finals of the play-offs.
The Blades have lost four of their last five outings, poor form which has seen them fall away from automatic promotion contention.
And Whites fans, as well as Bamford, will be desperate for the shoe to be on the other foot this time around.
