Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn forged an iconic rivalry which gripped the sport of boxing both in the UK and globally.
Eubank and Benn, as boxing family dynasties, were thrust into an atmosphere of grudges and chaos, a storyline which gripped the sweet science.

But it is really a deep-rooted feuding and conflict which has spanned more than 35 years, from when the fathers Eubank and Benn first met.
Boxing has had some iconic fighting dance partners over the years, with Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder, Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield and Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao to name a few.
Albeit this UK rivalry between Eubank and Benn gripped huge audiences in a different way, pure anger and dismay towards each other.
Their two meetings incorporated savage warfare, verbal battles and controversy.
And it is clear the bad blood is more evident than ever with their son’s inevitable meeting now just one week away.

Eubank and Benn had called each other out for years as they grew in stature on the middleweight and super middleweight scene.
Their opposition finally culminated in a fight, with a war of words erupting before their grudge match.

It became a real chess match and war of attrition, but it was Eubank who got the last laugh, stopping Benn with a deadly combination in the ninth.
Despite the conclusive result, it was clear the rivalry was far from over with grudges to be settled.

But the showdown failed to live up to the original clash, although the pair could barely be separated.
It was all left on the line with a chance to be part of promoter Don King’s stable and become a unified champion at stake.
Unfortunately the rivalry was left inconclusive as it went to the judges scorecards and ended in a split draw.

The pair have been on tour together to discuss their famous nights, but things have since been stirred up again.
Benn’s son Conor and Eubank Jr originally looked set to meet in 2022, but the fight was cancelled after the former failed a drugs test.
This added another layer to an already complex rivalry, with Eubank Sr unhappy as to his son’s decision to accept the fight.
Now an unofficial trilogy, carried on by the sons, has been rearranged for 2025.
They will carry the torches for their fathers, and meet in a middleweight bout.
Nigel will be in his son’s corner on the night, but things are far different for Eubank Sr.
He has slammed his son’s actions and refused to be part of the event thus far.
