CHARLOTTE (PINPOINT WEATHER) -- Our spring-like pattern will lock in Tuesday as temperatures hover in the 60s across the Carolinas and winds continue flowing out of the southwest.
We’ll start off mostly dry as a cold front tracks south and east towards the Queen City.

We’ll see clouds build as the cold front crosses the Queen City and temperatures peak in the low 80s through the peak heating hours of the day. While spotty and widely scattered, Tuesday’s storm chances will also bring the potential for some severe weather.
Be on the lookout for storms to pack damaging winds through the peak heating hours of the day. Peak storm activity will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday, with storms and showers lingering into the evening.
Look for overnight lows to dip into the 60s yet again ahead of more warm temperatures through the work week. Upper 70s will take hold through the rest of the week as afternoon storms continue to plague the forecast.
We’ll get back into the low 80s to kick off the weekend with lower rain chances heading into the start of next week.
