CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A Queen City News reporter and photojournalist were caught in the middle of a shooting Wednesday while covering an unrelated story.
Reporter Jen Cardone and Photojournalist Donald Fountain were in Chester covering a story about water runoff issues in a local neighborhood when gunfire erupted in front of them, right at the Chester County Fairgrounds.
Cardone and Fountain reported hearing gunshots, seeing a victim on the ground, and watching as several men carried that individual into a vehicle and drove away.
After driving away from the scene to a safer area, Cardone and Fountain realized a shot had been fired directly at their news vehicle during the incident.

I’ve been a reporter for 10 years now and have been close to shootings but never hit by stray bullets. Today, this one nearly hit my head in the passenger seat. Thankful to be alive and okay but still shaken up @Queen_City_News pic.twitter.com/wooyJJTYVd
