The first-ever Aims Community College Spotlight Speaker series doesn’t start until September, but tickets are on sale now to see four distinguished speakers.
Amy Cuddy will be the first speaker of the series, taking the stage Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Aims Welcome Center, 4901 W. 20th St., Greeley. All the speakers in the series will start at 7 p.m. at the Welcome Center.
Cuddy is a social psychologist, best-selling author and keynote speaker who has taught at Harvard Business School and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She received her doctorate from Princeton.
Her 2012 TED Talk “Your Body Language May Shape Who You Are” has more than 70 million views, according to her biography. This year, she is scheduled to release her latest book, “Bullies, Bystanders, and Bravehearts: The psychology of bullying among adults, and how we find the courage and tools to stop it.”
Leif Babin takes the stage Thursday, Oct. 30. He is a former U.S. Navy SEAL officer and the co-author of “Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALS Lead and Win,” which went to No. 1 on the New York Times best seller list.
In his last tour of duty, Babin served as operations officer and executive officer with a SEAL Team, where he was deployed to Iraq again with a Special Operations Task Force. He is a recipient of the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
Dr. Myron Rolle takes the stage Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026. Rolle is a Harvard-Massachusetts General Hospital-trained neurosurgeon serving as the pediatric neurosurgery fellow at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He is on the board of directors for Aspire Health Partners, which is the leading mental health organization in central Florida.
Rolle was a safety on the Florida State University football team from 2006-08. He was also awarded the Rhodes Scholarship in 2009, which allowed him to study at Oxford University. In 2010, the Tennessee Titans selected him in the sixth round of the NFL draft. His NFL career lasted only a few seasons, retiring in 2013 to attend medical school at Florida State.
Chesley Burnett “Sully” Sullenberger takes the stage Wednesday, March 26, 2026. Sullenberger was famously the captain of the Jan. 15, 2009, U.S. Airways Flight 1549, which he had to emergency land on the Hudson River in New York City. He came in second in Time Magazine’s “Top 100 Most Influential Heroes and Icons of 2009” and was awarded the French Legion of Honour.
Sullenberger is a graduate of the Air Force Academy and the University of Northern Colorado. He graduated with his bachelor of science degree from the Air Force in 1973. He graduated from UNC with a master’s degree in public administration in 1979.
“The Aims Welcome Center was built for the entire community to experience opportunities like this,” said Aims CEO and President Leah L. Bornstein said in a news release. “We are excited to bring these four speakers to challenge us in our thinking and growth.”
