At the recent I Was Feeling Epic fanfest, a Vampire Diaries fan asked writer/producer Carina Adly Mackenzie who Taylor Swift would choose, Damon or Stefan? Mackenzie and many of the Vampire Diaries and its spinoff The Originals cast and creators are huge Swifties — they oftentimes meet up together to go to Swift concerts.
"She's not in her skinny vampire era. She wants to get thrown around now. I feel like it's Taylor Kinney, I feel like it's Uncle Mason," said Mackenzie.
"I think she's going with the safe bet of Stefan. I think she's going with Stefan if I had to guess. But what do I know?" said Trevino.
Mackenzie didn't miss a beat before replying, "'Look What You Made Me Do' is a good Damon song."
"Damon is like that one guy who we love to enjoy from a distance but when it comes to the real world Stefan is always the best choice," wrote one fan.
"Younger Taylor would pick Damon but nowadays she would pick Stefan," wrote a third fan.
None of them seemed to think that Swift would pick Uncle Mason, but Mackenzie is an expert on all things Vampire Diaries and Swift, so that feels like the right answer for where Swift is in her life.
