In that time Como have gone from Serie B to Serie A, gaining promotion last season to make their comeback after a 21-year absence.
Fabregas had been the club’s assistant manager before stepping up as first-team boss in the summer.
He has since won nine of their 32 league matches to move to the brink of safety this term.
Their latest win over Torino last Sunday moved Como 12 points clear of the relegation zone with six matches remaining.
Henry was in attendance alongside Hollywood actor Terry Crews and has now commented on the club’s fortunes.
Speaking on CBS Sports’ Champions League coverage, he explained: “We needed three points to make sure that it looks like we are going to stay up.
“Mathematically it is not done yet but that was a very important win for us. It was a great weekend.”
A further seven points from their remaining matches would guarantee Como’s survival.
Fabregas’ side sit five points clear of the bottom three in 13th place after Sunday’s 1-0 home victory.
Looking at the league table, Henry added: “You don’t want to jinx it because as you can see mathematically it is not, but it is virtually done. That was the aim for the season.

Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher then asked if Henry’s role as a shareholder would mean he is involved in deciding Fabregas’ future.
The Frenchman replied: “Yes or himself, because he is also (a shareholder),” prompting laughter from the pair.
Henry and Fabregas made a combined 100 appearances for the Gunners during their time as teammates in north London.
They also won the FA Cup under Arsene Wenger in 2005, the final major trophy of Henry’s time at the club.
Fabregas first joined his former captain at Como in 2023 as under-19 manager.

He later served as Osian Roberts’ no.2 for last season’s Serie B promotion-winning campaign.
The 37-year-old then replaced Roberts ahead of this term in his first senior managerial role on a deal through to the summer of 2028.
