National Day of Prayer events will begin at noon and 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1 in Greeley.
The public is welcome to attend the events, with the noon gathering set to take place outside the Weld County Courthouse, 901 9th Ave.
Greeley City Manager Raymond C. Lee III, Greeley Police Chief Adam Turk, Greeley Fire Chief Brian Kuznik and other community leaders are expected to attend the noon event, according to the organizer.
Pastor Al Hernandez, the president of Pastors Alliance AMG of Colorado and the pastor at Centro Victoria Church in Greeley, will lead the prayer.
“This gathering of a faith community pastor, congregations, city and government officials and community leaders is to make a declaration through the power of prayer,” Hernandez wrote in an email. “For protection, wisdom, repentance and to provoke a movement of revival.”
The evening gathering will be held at Upper Room Ministries, 919 18th Ave., Greeley.
