During a recent meet-and-greet event during the I Was Feeling Epic fanfest, a Brazilian fan posted a video to Instagram of Roerig bringing Kebbel flowers at her autograph table. Underneath Kebbel's reply, a fan wrote, "You both are freaking adorable," and another added, "Sooooooooo happy for you both ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️."
The Vampire Diaries has been off the air for eight years, but Kebbel and Roerig, who played Lexi Branson and Matt Donovan, respectively, on the show, reconnected in 2023 when they co-starred on Hallmark Channel's Love in the Great Smoky Mountains: A National Park Romance. In the film, the two play exes who reunite on an archeological dig in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The two characters find romance as they compete for the same research grant.

Kebbel is currently starring on Rescue: HI Surf on FOX, while Roerig is appearing on the upcoming Netflix series The Waterfront, which premieres June 19. It is written and executive produced by Kevin Williamson, who was an original creator of The Vampire Diaries.
