Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who was selected by Karachi Kings in the PSL 10 draft, is set to join the squad later this month. As per news reports, Kane Williamson is expected to arrive in Pakistan on April 23 or 24. However, he was unable to participate in the team’s opening fixture and remains unavailable for at least four more matches due to his ongoing commentary duties in the IPL 2025.
Kane Williamson to make PSL debut
Williamson’s arrival is eagerly awaited as Karachi Kings look to build momentum in the tournament and strengthen their lineup with his experience and skill. To note, Williamson will be making his debut in the PSL this year just like David Warner.
Kane Williamson had a successful career in IPL for ten seasons, from 2015 to 2024. However, he went unsold at the most recent mega-auction. Williamson led SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) to the IPL 2018 final, where they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The right-handed batter was exceptional with the bat in that season, securing the Orange Cap by scoring 735 runs in 17 matches at an average of 52.50, which included eight half-centuries.
After his time with SRH ended in 2022, Williamson moved on to represent Gujarat Titans for the following two IPL seasons.
