SAM DARNOLD has already settled into life as a Seattle Seahawk, not least because of a familiar face in Washington.

Darnold, 27, is working alongside offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak at the Seahawks, someone who he already spent time with during his stint with the San Francisco 49ers.

Kubiak and Darnold were both with the 49ers during the 2023 season and Darnold reckons that their experience together is only going to help him do big things with the Seahawks.

In a hint at what his future as the Seahawks quarterback could be like, Darnold told ESPN’s Laura Rutledge: “Me and Klint Kubiak, the offensive coordinator there, have had a ton of conversations about what that looks like.

“It’s really fun to just be able to take some of the things that we really worked together with in San Francisco in ’23.

“Some of the stuff that he worked with or got to learn in New Orleans last year and kinda the stuff I learned last year in Minnesota and just kinda collaborate on some of those things.

“Klint is a great offensive coordinator, a great offensive mind.”

Seahawks fans will be hoping that they can collaborate better than they did at the 49ers after he threw just two touchdowns in 10 games in San Francisco.

Darnold joined the Seahawks as a free agent this offseason after spending last year with the Minnesota Vikings

Seven years after being drafted into the NFL, Darnold broke out in a big way in his first year with the Vikings.

He passed for 4,319 yards with 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Darnold was drafted with the No. 3 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the New York Jets, but struggled to make an impact there.

In three seasons he passed for 8,097 yards with 45 touchdowns and 39 interceptions.

The Jets traded him to the Carolina Panthers after three seasons and he served as their starter for two years.

He was named to his first Pro Bowl and led the Vikings to a 14-13 record and a playoff berth last season.

Now he’s penned a a three-year, $100 million deal to take the place of Geno Smith in Seattle.

The Seahawks traded Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders last month and were always favorites to sign Darnold afterwards.
