Patrick Peterson to retire an Arizona Cardinal ...Middle East

Former Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson is retiring with the franchise, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Peterson had been teasing a return to Arizona this past week.

“It was nothing like taking flight with the Bird Gang on Sundays,” he posted on Instagram. “See you next week Cardinals.”

The cornerback joined the Cardinals as a first-round pick (No. 5 overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft after spending three seasons at LSU.

He spent 10 years with Cardinals from 2011-2020 (154 starts), recording 28 interceptions and 91 passes defensed to go along with 499 tackles, 10 of which were for losses, 4.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and four QB hits.

Peterson was a Pro Bowler in each of his first eight seasons, earning First-Team All-Pro nods in 2013 and 2015.

Where did Patrick Peterson play after his Cardinals tenure?

The cornerback left Arizona as a free agent in 2021, signing on with the Minnesota Vikings. He spent two years there before heading to Pittsburgh in 2023.

He did not play last year.
