There can only be one GOAT in any sport.
For the NFL, there’s no question that Tom Brady is football’s GOAT.
Brady shed light on who could possibly surpass him in the futureGettyHowever, the seven-time Super Bowl champion may not be wearing the crown forever, as crazy and unfathomable as that sounds.
While appearing on Kevin Hart’s ‘Cold as Balls’ show while at Fanatics Fest in New York City, Brady offered a name that may eventually surpass him and his GOAT status.
A name that isn’t surprising in the least.
“Who do you feel has the biggest opportunity in today’s game to possibly duplicate a version of history, like do you feel like?” Hart began to ask.
“Patrick,” Brady immediately answered, cutting off the comedian.
“I just think Patrick – I love his mentality,” Brady said.
“The great players that I’ve played with, Patrick has their mentality. He has the will to win. He’s got a desire every time he takes the field to be a great leader.
“Even more than his physical skill, what I always do, I listen to what they say all the time.
“I listen to what they say after they win, I listen to what they say after they lose. I listen to how they communicate with their teammates and stuff. It’s just everything he says is the right thing…
“He’s got a great organization, great coach, great general manager, great ownership, and they got the parts around him.”
Brady isn’t insecure about his status as the greatest of all-timeGetty Brady is responsible for two of Mahomes’ four playoff losses in his careerGettyOf course Mahomes still has a very long way to go if he is to ever overthrow Brady as the NFL’s GOAT.
For starters, Brady has seven Super Bowl rings, the most in league history.
He won six with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Brady appeared in ten Super Bowls total, going 7-3 on the sport’s biggest stage.
Mahomes is currently at three rings, with a 3-2 record in Super Bowls, coming off a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback is still only 29, and has many more years of his prime to catch Brady.

Ranking the top 10......
Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?
Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?
Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and more
Tight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?
And while winning four more Super Bowls is highly unlikely, if there was ever one person to do it, it’s number fifteen in Kansas City.
As Brady alluded to, he has a great coach in Andy Reid, a stable organization and front office, and a talented roster, so there’s no reason to believe the Chiefs won’t be competitive and in the hunt, as long as Mahomes is behind center.
It’s a refreshing take from Brady, as it’s clear he’s secure and confident as his status as the greatest to ever do it, while being vulnerable and comfortable enough to say that Mahomes has a chance at duplicating his success.
