San Diego Wave FC players delivered results on the global stage for their respective countries during the FIFA April international window ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
Eleven Wave players represented their national teams across the youth and senior levels, generating a combined three goals, four assists, a championship win, and FIFA U-17 World Cup qualification.
Midfielder Kimmi Ascanio was called up to the U.S. U-17 Youth National Team for the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers in Trinidad and Tobago and tallied one goal and two assists across two matches.
The goal for Ascanio marked her sixth of her U.S. U-17 career and made her the first player to score in two consecutive Concacaf Women’s U-17 qualifying competitions for the USYNT.
Ascanio helped propel her team into one of four qualification spots for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Gia Corley, 22, scored a goal for Germany’s U-23 Youth National Team against the Netherlands in the semifinal.
Germany went on to win the tournament in a penalty kick shootout against Norway—Corley played all 90 minutes of the match.
San Diego’s Kyra Carusa scored for Ireland in their 4-0 win over Greece to tally her 11th international career goal.
Delphine Cascarino tallied an assist for France to keep the team’s four game win streak alive in the UEFA Nations League tournament.
Adriana Leon and Kailen Sheridan helped the Canadian Women’s National team earn a 3-0 win over Argentina in a friendly matchup, marking Sheridan’s 31st clean sheet on the international stage.
Leon contributed one of the goals in the nation’s win.
Midfield Melanie Barcenas and defender Quincy McMahon both earned their first call-ups to U.S. Youth national team training camps during the April window.
Barcenas, 17, trained with the U-19 team, and McMahon trained with the U-23 team for the first time since March 2023.
With international duty complete, the players returned to San Diego to focus attention on the upcoming game against the Kansas City Current on April 12 at Snapdragon Stadium.
