Last year, Portland’s own Salt & Straw shocked the internet by teasing a limited run of Choco Tacos at Taco Bell’s Live Más Live event. Referring to the release as a “Taco Tuesday like you’ve never had it before,” the Choco Taco 2.0 is made with hand pressed waffle cones, freshmade cinnamon ancho ice cream dipped in single origin chocolate and studded with toasted brown rice. This tasty recreation was served with four custom dipping sauce packets including Cheesecake, Chocolate Chili, Cinnamon Wild Berry and Mango Jalapeño.
According to Salt & Straw, the Choco Taco 2.0 was supposed to become available nationwide last summer. However, fans online claim it never happened. And after doing a little bit of research of our own, we learned from our favorite snack reporter @snackolator that the revamped ice cream taco might actually still be in development.

In the meantime, while we wait for more information surrounding this can’t-miss collaboration, we’ll be manifesting a nationwide rollout and adding some photos to our vision board. Lets just hope our efforts don’t go unnoticed and are rewarded with ice cream taco excellence sooner than later.
