Five teams of two are lined up, ready to backpack on a budget without a bank card or smartphone.
This is the fifth series of the hit BBC show, which has seen couples race across Europe, Asia, South America and Canada. There have also been two celebrity spin-off versions.

Race Across the World starts on BBC One on Wednesday 23 April at 9pm.
All will be available to stream after airing on the BBC iPlayer along with previous series.
Where are they travelling this time?
Contestants will start the race at the Great Wall of China (Photo: Yang Dong/VCG/Getty)This time, they’ve got to do it with the lowest budget in the show’s history- just over £1,000 per person, the cash equivalent of flying the route.
They will have to navigate the two most populous countries in the world, India and China, with more than 1.4 billion people.

Then, they will head to India, home to more than 700 spoken languages, taking in 13 of its 28 states to reach the southernmost tip.
For the first leg, teams will need to travel from the Great Wall to the capital, which is twice the size of London and has six major train stations, and then out again to reach the first checkpoint, Huangling.

Five pairs are participating in this race, spanning the age range from 18 to 65.The youngest duo are Fin, 18, and Sioned, 19, a teenage couple from Carmarthen, Wales.
At the other end of the spectrum are Brian, 62, a retired financial advisor, and Melvyn, 65, a driving instructor.
Despite differing approaches to travel, they are keen to discover if they have any common ground on this journey.

The 21-year-olds, from Hertfordshire, made it to the final checkpoint in Lombok, first securing the £20,000 prize.
