On paper, the players of Survivor 48 had made it through the limbo state of "mergatory," and could next look forward to making the next stage of the game: The jury. But the CBS reality series threw another curveball their way, utilizing a "new era" staple of splitting up the dozen castaways into two groups. The split culminated in an epic record-breaking showdown between two challenge titans, and a decision for both mini-"tribes" between an easy outsider vote, and making a big move to kick off the next phase.Check out spoilers about tonight's episode below and find out who was voted out.Related: Everything to Know About Survivor 48

Who got voted off on Survivor 48 tonight?

Saiounia “Sai” Hughley

Robert Voets/CBS

Saiounia "Sai" Hughley

By the end of her time in the game, there was a lot to say about Sai. From her first moment of the season to her last, Sai was consistent in the way she regarded the other people playing alongside her, being blunt, honest, and not afraid to mince words. Her demeanor put her in a perennial state of hot water with her competition, seen as someone too chaotic or scattered. But she was able to evade elimination every single time, whether it was due her idol or her complicated relationship with Cedrek. By the time Sai hit the merge, she had mended fences with her previous rival, Mary. But she had earned many more in the process who felt she was too erratic to work with. After getting nearly half the votes against her in the previous round, Sai yet again found her back against the wall. But she did what she was known best for during her two weeks on Survivor 48: Fighting. Unfortunately, after an afternoon of trying to pitch Mitch to everyone else, the appeal to not have Sai sit on the jury was too appealing to resist. Sai had gone from strongarming a near-unanimous vote in her first Tribal Council to going out unanimously in her sixth.

Yes! Mitch finally made use of the "Block-a-Vote" advantage he got on the journey in Episode 2. He chose to block Sai's vote, meaning she could neither vote nor use her Shot in the Dark.Related: Meet the Full Cast of Survivor 48
