Nature Tales: Flower Power Friday, April 11 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Come out to the North Carolina Botanical Garden for another Nature Tales. This weekend will focus on flowers, with flower stories told followed by a flower scavenger hunt around the garden. For more information, click here.

Spring Adoption Special at Orange County Animal Services Friday, April 11 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 12 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

2025 Black Maternal Health Week Dance Party Fundraiser Friday, April 11 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The Museum of Life and Science is having a dance party fundraiser this Friday for Black Maternal Health Week. This event is open to the public and will be fun for the whole family, with music, dancing, light refreshments and a kids corner. Click here for more information.

Asian Night 2025 Friday, April 11 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Come out to East Chapel Hill High this Friday for Asian Night 2025, put on by the Asian Student Associations of Chapel Hill High, East Chapel Hill High, and Carrboro High. It’s an annual celebration of Asian culture through performances, food, and community. For more information, click here.

Swingin’ Spring Barn Dance with Too Much Fun Friday, April 11 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Drag Show: Healthcare with a Flair! Friday, April 11 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Come out to Steel String Brewery for a drag show supporting a good cause. The donation show is dedicated to aiding Trans people seeking medical care via UNC Student Health Action Coalition’s Gender Affirming Care Clinic Scholarship. The drag show is brought to you by The Nevermore Guild and UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Student Senate Culture and Community Committee.  For more information, click here.

Golden Heroes 5K Saturday, April 12 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Participate in a run/walk 5K this weekend for a good cause. CPALS is a non-profit student organization that works closely with UNC Children’s Hospitals to support their pediatric hematology and oncology patients, accompanying patients and their families during stays and treatments in the clinic. Run for Youth 5K Saturday, April 12 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

This weekend, Volunteers for Youth, a local nonprofit, are having their 5K run/walk. The race begins and ends at Weaver Street. Registration is free but donations are appreciated with all proceeds going to Volunteers for Youth. Click here for more information.

Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market Saturday, April 12 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

3rd Annual Orange-Chatham African American Cultural Festival Saturday, April 12 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will be holding their 3rd Annual Orange-Chatham African American Cultural Festival at the Hargraves Community Center.
