A well-built, feature-rich office chair that delivers everyday comfort and support without breaking the bank.

I’ve come to realize that having a solid, comfortable office chair is probably the most important piece of furniture you can invest it when you sit behind a computer all day. I’ve been through my fair share of chairs over the years and ensuring that you have a chair you can live and work with is essential to a productive environment. The mesh ergonomic office chair has become increasingly popular in the past few years thanks to remote working. They are breathable, comfortable, and they present a modern aesthetic. The Boulies EP460 Ergonomic Office Chair is that type of office chair and as an added bonus, it’s budget-friendly.

User Experience

The Boulies EP460 Ergonomic Office Chair does require assembly. It comes in a sizeable shipping box, but all the parts are labeled and easy to identify. I’ve constructed dozens of gaming and office chairs and the assembly process is very similar from one chair to the next. There were two unique things about this assembly.

The five star foot base had to be assembled. Usually this is a part that comes welded together and all the user has to do is snap the wheels into the base. With the EP460 chair, I had to connect each section of the base into the connecting section and then snap the wheels into place. The arms weren’t pre-attached to the seat. While this was less of an oddity than the base assembly being required, it was still unusual as the arms are almost always pre-attached to the seat section of the chair.

Assembly was not difficult, but because of the previous two elements I mentioned and the addition of a footrest, it did take a little longer than usual to complete. The chair is very sturdy and seems to be well-made. I like how all the levers are easy to operate and reach from the seat. I was surprised that the wheels were not more heavy-duty.

These seem to be standard office chair wheels and not designed to handle larger people. The chair is designed to accommodate users weighing up to 287 pounds (130 kg) with a height ranging from 5’7” to 6’3” (170–190 cm). This is not typical for what you see in Big-and-Tall chairs which have a weight capacity of at least 300 pounds. I feel this is worth noting since big and tall chairs usually have reinforced frames and stronger materials and the wheels that were included seem like they could be stronger for this level of chair.

Aside from that, the build quality of the chair is excellent — it feels sturdy and well-constructed. Overall, I really like the chair. The integrated footrest is a standout feature, making it much more comfortable for extended use. Whether I’m working for long hours or leaning back to relax, the chair provides consistent support and comfort. The mesh material helps to keep me from overheating.

Conclusion

The Boulies EP460 Ergonomic Office Chair delivers impressive quality and comfort at a competitive price point. Its mesh construction and ergonomic features make it a strong choice for users who spend long hours at their desks. While the assembly process includes a couple of unexpected steps and the chair may not meet the needs of users seeking a big-and-tall design, the overall experience is positive. From its breathable fabric and customizable recline options to the thoughtful addition of a footrest, this chair offers both functionality and comfort for the modern workspace.
