Dennis Gates produced one of the best turnarounds in the entire country this past season with Mizzou finishing 22-12 overall and 10-8 in the deep SEC. Now, he’s working to reload the roster via the transfer portal, pulling in one piece out of the Big Ten to begin the week.
On Monday, former UCLA guard Sebastian Mack committed to the Tigers after spending 2 seasons with Mick Cronin and the Bruins. Mack started 31 games across his 2 seasons but was primarily used off the bench this past campaign.

Coming out of high school, Mack was a 4-star guard and a top-60 prospect nationally per the 247 Sports Composite. As a true freshman, he started 30 games for UCLA and averaged 12.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals.
This past season, the arrival of former Illinois and Louisville guard Skyy Clark sent Mack to a bench role where he was still the 3rd-leading scorer for the Bruins with 9.6 points per game in 21 minutes per game. Though not a serious threat from 3-point range (he shoots 29.6% from deep for his career), Mack showed he can still be a scoring spark plug in short order off the bench.
So far, Mack is the 3rd player to commit to Gates’s Tigers in the portal, joining a pair of big men in Luke Northweather and Jevon Porter.
