This week’s Hometown Heroes, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, are Charlie Farris and David Fitch.
We’re celebrating David Fitch of Fitch Lumber and Hardware and Charlie Farris of Jersey Mike’s and Al’s Burger Shack for their work in giving back to causes around our community, most notably the Fitch Family Comprehensive Pediatric Rehabilitation Center of UNC. The center was born out of tragedy when Fitch’s son was hit by a car and needed extensive rehabilitation, which involved a lot of travel across states, highlighting the importance to the Fitch family of having a comprehensive rehab center here. Farris is always quick to help out in our community and he just recently organized 55 Jersey Mike’s locations across the Triangle to devote their proceeds to the Fitch Center as part of Jersey Mike’s annual Day of Giving. They’re hoping to have raised half a million dollars in a single day.
