Cam Ward, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders will be the stars of the 2025 NFL Draft.
But the latest amateur selection process will be filled with talent at the top, with running backs and tight ends expected to dominate the early rounds inside Lambeau Field.

The Washington Commanders are proof that getting a couple draft picks right can change the course of an entire franchise.
Last year, a crying Caleb Williams went to the Chicago Bears at No. 1 overall, while Jayden Daniels fell to the Commanders at No. 2 and led a rebuilt team to the NFC East division title and two playoff wins.
Abdul Carter, Mason Graham, Ashton Jeanty, Jalon Walker and Shemar Stewart are key names to watch.
The Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars are scheduled to kick off the party.

Big drama
Ward faces big question marks out of Miami.
But the talented quarterback could receive the first hug from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
“He plays with almost a sort of sense of recklessness at times,” NFL Draft expert Simon Clancy exclusively told talkSPORT.
“He puts the ball up for grabs. He throws some sort of funky arm angles, which he doesn’t necessarily need to do.”

Trades are possible at any time in the draft, and teams regularly leap up or trade back in the hope of either securing a prized pick or stockpiling future selections.
It’s worth remembering that Patrick Mahomes wasn’t taken until the No. 10 pick in 2017 via a Kansas City Chiefs trade, while Brock Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant in 2022 and lasted until the final pick of the draft (No. 262).
That’s why fans love the draft and keep watching for three consecutive days.
Tom Brady is proof that some of the best players in the NFL aren’t picked until the later rounds, and the televised drama never stops — just ask Aaron Rodgers, who infamously slid all the way to No. 24 before he joined Green Bay.

The 2025 draft will be held from April 24-26 at Lambeau Field, which is the home of the Green Bay Packers.
Round one is scheduled for 8 pm Eastern Time.
The draft used to be associated with New York City and was regularly held at prestigious but relatively small Radio City Music Hall.
As the NFL has become bigger and bigger, so has the draft.
It’s now a massive multi-day event, and the 2019 draft in Nashville, Tennessee, featured an overflowing crowd that packed downtown and stunned fans because the outdoor gathering was so large.
Recent drafts have been held in Kansas City, Missouri, Las Vegas, Cleveland and Detroit.
Hosting the draft has become a big deal to the home cities of NFL teams, as the league keeps finding ways to increase the draft’s size and popularity.
One TV channel also isn’t big enough for the draft.
NFL Network, NFL+, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Deportes will share coverage.
On the clock
There are 32 picks in the first round, with draft order determined by the reverse order of finish in the previous season.
Barring trades, each round starts with the team that finished with the worst record and ends with the recent Super Bowl champions.
Each team has 10 minutes to make its first-round pick.

Teams get seven minutes to make picks in the second round.
The draft clock then narrows to five minutes for picks in rounds 3-6, and four minutes in round seven.
All 32 NFL teams have a table set up at the draft venue, where team representatives stay in contact with executives at each club’s headquarters ‘war room.’
When a team decides on its draft selection, it communicates the player’s name from the war room to on-site representatives.
A team representative then writes the chosen player’s name, position and university on a card, and submits it to an NFL staff member.
When the runner gets the card, the selection is official, and the draft clock is reset for the next pick.
