Four swimmers have scratched out of the night one finals of the Sacramento TYR Pro Swim Series, two on the men’s side and two on the women’s side, and all four of them were seeded with non-800 times.
In the women’s event, 6th seed Heidi George is the oldest swimmer in the meet at 49-years-old. She was seeded with a mile time she went in April of 2024, but she scratched tonight’s event. George is still entered in the 1500 later in the meet.
On the other end of the age spectrum, 17-year-old Landrey Gold from Wolverine Aquatics was the 7th seed seeded with her 1000 time before she scratched. She is also entered in the 50 backstroke, 50 fly, 400 free, and the 1500 free.
Both men’s swimmers were seeded with 1000 times. Tomas Chocholaty from Czechia was entered in the event as the 8th seed. He currently swims for the University of Utah, and recently competed at the 2025 Big 12 Conference championships, where he added a little more than 20 seconds in the 1650 to finish 18th. He is scheduled to swim the 200 free, 400 free, and the 1500 free later this meet.
The final scratch was Nathan Bell from Oklahoma Christian. Bell was seeded 9th, just 10 seconds behind Chocholaty. In February, he went a personal best in the 1000 free, swimming an altitude adjusted time of 9:16.44 to drop almost five seconds. Bell is also entered in the 400 and 1500 freestylers.
