Francesco Acerbi appeared to threaten a Paris Saint-Germain fan who poked fun at him over his Champions League final heartbreak.

The centre-back played for Inter Milan as they were thrashed 5-0 by PSG in the competition’s showpiece in Munich earlier this month.

Inter made their second Champions League final appearance in three seasons, but couldn’t win the title for the first time in 15 years.

During a meet-and-greet in the United States for the Club World Cup, Acerbi took issue with a fan who was wearing a PSG shirt.

They were alleged to have reminded the defender of when he was left on the floor by Bradley Barcola during the contest.

“You must be serious with him,” a translator said to the fan in English as per ESPN.

Acerbi himself then spoke in Italian, insisting: “I’m serious. Don’t make fun of me.

“I don’t like it… I’m crazy, I’ll beat the crap out of you.”

The centre-back subsequently continued to meet the other fans who were waiting for him after the tense encounter.

Inter, who drew 1-1 with Monterrey in their Club World Cup opener, lost just one match in their Champions League run before the final.

Six of their eight league phase fixtures ended in victory to see them finish fourth and advance straight into the last-16.

Feyenoord, Bayern Munich and Barcelona were all swept aside in the knockout stages to book their place in the final.

However, they found themselves 2-0 down after 20 minutes of play after Achraf Hakimi and Desire Doue scored for PSG.

A second from Doue was followed by goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu as the French champions triumphed.

The defeat added further misery onto Inter’s 2024/25 campaign as they finished second and just a point behind Serie A winners Napoli.

Furthermore, they were Supercoppa Italiana runners-up to rivals AC Milan, who also knocked them out of the Coppa Italia.

Manager Simone Inzaghi left the club by mutual consent at the start of June and is now in charge at Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.

Former Inter defender Cristian Chivu has replaced him in the San Siro hotseat ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
