LOTTERY players have been urged to double check their tickets as a $50,000 prize is on the verge of becoming worthless.
The ticket, which hasn’t been cashed in dates back to a draw in October, and lotto chiefs are continuing to hunt for the ticket holder.

The player defied odds of one in around 913,000 as they matched four numbers and the Powerball.
This meant they only missed out on the jackpot prize by just one number.
Chiefs have revealed the prize will expire if it hasn’t been cashed in by 4pm local time on April 3, as per the ABC affiliate WCIV-TV.
Bosses have warned that if someone decides to mail in the ticket, they must postmark the envelope for April 3.
If no one steps forward, then the money will be added to a pot used to benefit education in the state.
If the winner claims their prize, they will be clobbered with federal and state taxes.
Winners who scoop more than $5,000 must pay 24% tax at the federal level.
But, the deductions will not end there.
This is because in South Carolina, players must pay 6.5% in tax on the state level.
The last Powerball draw took place on Monday and there were no winners.
No players even matched five numbers, which would’ve scored a $1 million prize.
This means the estimated jackpot has rolled over to $30 million.
It has a cash value of $13.9 million, and the next draw takes place on Wednesday.
