Late last week, the 76-year-old monarch was admitted to the hospital for side effects related to his ongoing treatment for the unspecified type of cancer he was diagnosed with in 2024, as Parade previously reported.
Though his hospital visit on Thursday, March 26, was brief, with BBC reporting Charles later returned to Clarence House that same day to make calls from his study and work on state papers, the sudden turn of events resulted in the cancelation of several events scheduled to take place that day, as well as some public engagements he was set to appear on Friday, March 28.
According to new reports from GB News and The Sun, the couple will not be enjoying a luxury spa resort in Africa as initially planned. Charles has also pulled out of his annual trip to Romania for hiking in the countryside this spring.
Though the king prefers to keep much of his health battle private, at the time the news of Charles' trip to the London Clinic broke, palace officials described it as nothing more than an "unscheduled hospital visit" and a "minor bump in the road."
A rep for the royal did not immediately return Parade's request for comment. We will update this with their response.
