Ukiah Unified School District proudly announced the February Students of the Month at a special ceremony held at Ukiah High School on Tuesday, March 4. Principals recognized 50 students from across the district’s 11 schools, highlighting their academic achievements and social-emotional growth with family members and the school community in attendance.
The Students of the Month program, established with the generous support of the Savings Bank of Mendocino County, has grown to include several community sponsors who are dedicated to recognizing outstanding student achievements.
Superintendent Deb Kubin hosted the ceremony, introducing each school’s principal to present their selected students. Teachers nominate students based on academic dedication, leadership, and social-emotional skills, and principals shared thoughtful comments from nominating teachers about each student’s outstanding qualities.
“Our students inspire us every day with their dedication and accomplishments,” said Superintendent Kubin. “Their hard work and resilience shape their future and strengthen our entire school community. We are proud to celebrate their success and deeply grateful for the families, educators, and community members who support them along the way.”
Each student received awards and special gifts from program sponsors in recognition of their achievements. The event was recorded and will be available for viewing on the Ukiah Unified YouTube channel.
