What if there was a 64-team college football tournament at the end of the season? It would be a disaster, first and foremost, but let’s imagine it was actually feasible from a logistical standpoint: Who would win it all?
On Thursday, Low released his hypothetical Final Four and champion for such an event, as if it were to take place in January 2026. His Final Four played out with 2-seed Clemson beating 1-seed Ohio State and 2-seed Alabama defeating 2-seed Notre Dame.
That means the championship game in this hypothetical scenario pits Alabama against Clemson for the pair’s 4th national title matchup in the past 11 years.
