2025 POLISH GRAND PRIX

Saturday, March 15th & Sunday, March 16th Oświęcim, Poland LCM (50m) Day 1 Recap Live Results

The second and final day of action at the 2025 Polish Grand Prix unfolded from Oświęcim with swimmers racing in timed finals as a chance to qualify for this summer’s World Championships in Singapore.

20-year-old Ksawery Masiuk already made the grade in the men’s 100m backstroke yesterday but the one-time NC State commit took on the 50m back sprint today.

Masiuk got the job done for gold in a time of 24.60, the 10th-best performance of his young career. His outing easily dipped under the 25.11 ‘A’ cut needed for the World Championships.

Behind him was Jakub Krischke who notched a World University Games-worthy result of 25.51 while Aleksandr Sienkiewicz rounded out the podium in 25.72.

Masiuk now ranks #2 in the world on the season, sitting only behind American Shaine Casas who put up a 24.23 scorcher at last week’s Pro Swim in Westmont.

Masiuk represented the sole Singapore qualifying athlete on the day, although there were a few other swims worth noting.

Yesterday’s 50m back winner Adela Piskorska followed up with a victory in the women’s 100m back on day two.

21-year-old Piskorska turned in a time of 1:01.27 to beat the field by just under half a second, with Paulina Peda and Julia Smurzynska earning the minor medals. The former touched in 1:01.69 and the latter in 1:02.83.

Piskorska has been as fast as 59.76 in her career and she’ll need to be near that in a future performance in order to clear the World Aquatics ‘A’ standard of 1:00.46.

The women’s 50m free saw Julia Maik get it done for gold in 25.47, the sole result of the field under the 26-second barrier. That effort was enough to etch her name onto the Polish roster for the World University Games.

Additionally, Adrian Jaskiewicz punched a time of 1:58.08 to win the men’s 200m fly in the only time of the pack under the 2:00 barrier.

Jaskiewicz is no stranger to the World University Games, having established his lifetime best of 1:57.07 to place 6th in the competition’s final in 2023 in Chengdu, China.
