While they were filling out forms, a woman named Dani was growing more and more upset with the man at the reception desk. Carver, her friend and squadron leader, wasn't getting his healthcare fully covered, despite the fact that she and many others had worked to make sure it was 100% covered. The forms were just not in the system, and there was nothing the man could do about it, despite the fact that he was apparently the one who processed the forms in the first place, and he could see that the friend was in a wheelchair.

Hana did her best to remain undercover. But a news report gave up the fact that there was an FBI agent among the hostages, and she was eventually forced to reveal herself. That's when things really escalated, and a sniper took a shot, killing Carver but missing Dani. Ethan tried to say he was the actual FBI agent in order to protect Hana and was incredibly close to shooting him in the head, until he talked her down. Dani then turned the gun on herself while Hana took over the talking, but SWAT arrived just in time. Hana and Ethan hugged and said "I love you." And then the episode was over with barely time to take a deep breath.
Not every episode of Most Wanted hits this hard. And the majority of them are much more black and white when it comes to their villains — it is Most Wanted, after all. But the entire FBI franchise has proven its ability to create stories that aren't just about good guys taking down the bad guys, and that are actually creative and entertaining explorations of current events. Dani's methods were extreme, but her feelings were understandable, and you can only imagine what she's already gone through to get to the point of bringing a gun to the VA hospital. That's the kind of thing you do only when you've exhausted every single other option, and it's absolutely wild that even the FBI couldn't simply get her friend healthcare coverage.
