A bullet went through a school window in Adams County on Tuesday after someone fired at least one shot during an armed carjacking, sheriff’s officials said.
The carjacking was reported near Conifer Road and Broadway, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said in a 2:46 p.m. post on X. The area is in the Sherrelwood neighborhood.
No injuries were reported from the carjacking or school. The sheriff’s office did not say which school was hit but noted all schools in the area were on lock down.
Several people, including at least one juvenile, were detained after the carjacking, sheriff’s officials said.
In a post on Facebook, Mapleton Public Schools officials said student dismissal at the nearby Global campus would be modified because of police activity in the area.
A spokesperson for the district could not immediately be reached for comment.
