The celebrations began as soon as Ravindra Jadeja hit the winning runs through the leg-side for a boundary. The team ran into the ground to hug the unbeaten batters Jadeja and KL Rahul.
Shreyas Iyer's terrific form
It was a terrific tournament for Shreyas Iyer from a personal perspective as well. The middle-order batter scored 243 runs in five matches at an average of 48.60 with two half-centuries to his name.
The 30-year-old batter scored crucial forties each in the semi-final and the final which played a key role in taking India to victory. He emerged as India's highest and the second-highest run-getter of the tournament overall.

However, Iyer showed a great amount of maturity and formed a vital partnership with Axar Patel. The duo collected 61 runs for the fourth wicket to bail India out of trouble. He couldn't complete his fifty but ensured to leave India in a position of ascendancy.
India lifted a Champions Trophy title after a gap of 12 years. The last time they won the tournament was way back in 2013 when MS Dhoni led the team to the title win. It was also the last time when the Men in Blue won an ICC 50-over title.
