John Mulaney Gets Candid on Sobriety: 'I Understand the Vigilance I Need' ...Saudi Arabia

Mulaney sat down with Tracy Smith for CBS Sunday Morning ahead of the premiere of Everybody's Live With John Mulaney on March 12 to discuss a variety of topics, with Smith asking the 42-year-old a poignant question that led to a thought-provoking answer.

In a clip from the extensive interview, Smith posed the question, "Is sobriety something that you have to think about every day?" 

He went on, saying, "I'll acknowledge that I understand the vigilance I need."

"So, yeah, sobriety maybe being, like, a bigger term than just abstaining from the chemicals. I definitely think about that," he concluded. 

Mulaney released a comedy special called John Mulaney: Baby J in 2023 that thoroughly explored his drug addiction, intervention and 2020 rehab visit.
