Stockton City Council considers new security measures for city hall ...Middle East

News by : (CBS sacramento) -

Tuesday night, the city council will be voting on adding new, enhanced security measures to the existing building and council chambers, while also appointing a new security services manager.

If approved, it will cost $186,000.

"We have had no real security other than the individuals, the guards, that we have that are here," Mayor Fugazi said. "We figured, because of some incidences that have happened, that it's about time that we put security measures in place."

The new security services manager sought would be a full-time position that will oversee the city's security contract, manage its employees and assess and coordinate security-related activities and services.

CBS Sacramento was told the city will be able to install these new security measures in the new city hall, which is set to open in October.
