Juvenile driver kills pedestrian in Garden Grove crash ...Middle East

A 53-year-old man was killed when he was struck by an SUV driven by a juvenile in a residential area of Garden Grove.

The crash occurred about 6:20 p.m. Sunday on the 10800 block of Chapman Avenue at Diane Street, according to Garden Grove police Cpl. John Yergler.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Yergler said. The juvenile driver of the blue 2004 Toyota 4Runner remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. His age was not released. Alcohol or drugs were not believed a factor in the crash.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation, the officer said.
