A 61-year-old man has died from severe injuries after being strangled and hitting his head on the ground in front of a gas station in Hillcrest on Saturday afternoon.
Officers responded around 4:55 p.m. Saturday to reports of a man assaulting another man at a Shell gas station at 330 Washington St., according to the San Diego Police Department.
Washington StreetPolice said they found the victim unconscious in front of the station. He was taken to a hospital, where he died shortly afterward. His name was not immediately available.
Solomon Guerrero, 55, was arrested near the intersection of Washington Street and Albatross Street and booked into San Diego County Jail on suspicion of murder, police said.
