Colorado State defensive coordinator Tyson Summers announced four additions to his staff Tuesday.

The four newest members to the CSU program are Matt Ah You, nickelbacks coach; Clint Sintim, linebackers coach; Nigel Madison, cornerbacks coach; and former Ram Trent Matthews, run-game specialist.

Ah You comes to CSU after spending four seasons coaching linebackers at Weber State. Prior to that, he was at his alma mater, BYU, as an analyst coaching safeties. He began his coaching career at Utah State as a defensive graduate assistant before spending the 2017 season at Oregon State coaching linebackers.

Sintim coached outside linebackers at Illinois last season. Prior to that, he spent the previous four years as a defensive coach with his alma mater, Virginia. There, he coached the Cavaliers’ defensive line and linebackers. Before returning to Virginia, he spent three seasons at Delaware and Richmond as a defensive coach.

After college, he played two seasons with the New York Giants in the NFL and was part of their 2012 Super Bowl  championship team before announcing his retirement as a player in 2013.

Prior to coming to CSU, Madison spent two seasons at Sacred Heart coaching inside linebackers. His first full-time coaching position was with Oregon in 2022 as a defensive analyst, helping the Ducks win the Holiday Bowl against North Carolina.

Madison started his coaching career after playing at Concordia – Ann Arbor. He left there to be a graduate assistant with the defensive line at FIU before heading to Buffalo for the same role with linebackers.

Matthews returns to Colorado State as a run-game specialist and will help with the defensive front. He spent the past two seasons as the defensive coordinator at Colorado Mesa. Prior to that, he was the co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach at Converse Judson High School in San Antonio. He spent a year as the secondary coach at Northern Colorado after beginning his coaching career at CSU in 2018 with the defensive backs and nickelbacks.

He was a four-year starter at CSU, recording 273 tackles, 18 pass break-ups and double-digit interceptions while playing defensive back. He was also a two-time All-Mountain West selection and finished in the top 10 in school history in interceptions, games played and started.
