Inzamam said in the viral video, “Maulana Tariq Jameel used to visit us every day. We had a room for Namaz. Following the prayers, he would talk to us. After a day or two, we invited Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan, and Mohammad Kaif for prayers. I noticed that 2-3 more Indian players also used to join; they wouldn't say the prayers but used to listen to the Maulana. Harbhajan once told me, 'My heart says that I should agree to whatever he (Maulana) says.'. I said, 'Then follow him. What is stopping you?' Then, he replied, 'I see you, and then I stop. Your life isn't like that'.”

After facing backlash over allegations that he attended Islamic preaching sessions and wanted to convert, the former World Cup winner suggested that those spreading such claims need serious help. Hitting back at the X user and Inzamam, Harbhajan Singh posted, X: “Take him with you to the hospital for mental treatment. He also needs serious treatment, just like you.”

Notably, Harbhajan visited Pakistan multiple times with the Indian team and shared a great bond with the former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar despite their involvement in a fiery incident during their playing days.
