A GAME store is under investigation after multiple winning lottery tickets were sold there back-to-back.

A lucky lottery winner took home Lotto Texas’ $83.5 million jackpot during Monday night’s drawing.

However, red flags were quickly raised when the store that sold the winning ticket was revealed.

This isn’t the first time a customer has walked away from the shop in Austin, Texas, with a winning ticket.

The business, which is a board game store ironically named Winners Corner, is owned by a lottery courier service called Jack Pocket.

After Texans buy tickets online, a courier sends a representative to physically buy the ticket in person at one of the lottery sellers.

Most recently, someone bought a winning lottery ticket with $2 million at Winners Corner TX LLC in December 2024.

In March 2021, a winning Texas Two-Step ticket worth over $2 million was also sold there.

Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick said on Tuesday he’s opening an investigation into Winners Corner, which has multiple locations across 17 states, according to their website.

“Recently, there have been many questions raised about the integrity of the Texas Lottery,” Patrick wrote on X.

“Last night, an $83 million winning ticket was sold in Austin.

“Turns out, the retail establishment that sold the winning ticket in the front of the store was owned by the courier service that purchased the ticket behind the wall in the back of the store.

“I decided to go out and investigate for myself,” he said.

Patrick included a video of him going inside Winners Corner and questioning the staff at the store, who directed him to speak to their lawyer.

“Do you not see an issue where the public might lose confidence if the courier service somehow happened at this one location in the entire state of Texas sold an $83 million winning ticket, and they also own the location that printed the ticket?” Patrick asked the lawyer.

The attorney clarified a courier customer bought the ticket – but he still recognized the suspicious circumstances.

It’s time we take a deep look at these courier services and these retail units, especially when they’re owned by the same company.”

“I do understand the concern,” the lawyer said.

Patrick said, “If people are going to have confidence in the lottery, we have to be sure that no one has an advantage.

“This is not the way the lottery was designed to operate,” he said.

Patrick said a law was proposed to outlaw couriers, but it died on the House floor.

“It’s time we take a deep look at these courier services and these retail units, especially when they’re owned by the same company,” he said.

Lotto Texas and Winners Corner haven’t returned The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.

Monday’s jackpot was the fifth-largest in the history of Lotto Texas.
