On Thursday, Feb. 13, Trump appointed Greenwood, 82, to the Kennedy Center Honors board, as first reported by The Tennessean.
"President Donald J. Trump was just unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.," Trump shared in a post made on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
But not everyone has been so enthused over the president's new involvement with the educational arts center that former President Eisenhower signed bipartisan legislation to create in 1958, with former President John F. Kennedy and his wife, Jackie, raising $30 million for the project, per NPR. (The building was later dedicated to Kennedy following his assassination in 1963).
