DEANDRE Hopkins hands a touchdown ball to his mom in the stands even though she’s never been able to see him play in the NFL.
Sabrina Greenlee was left permanently blind after suffering a vicious acid attack at the hands of a woman who her then boyfriend was cheating on her with.

She was also raped and suffered physical abuse by multiple ex-boyfriends while her NFL hopeful son was just a kid.
Her attacker was sentenced to 20 years in prison while Sabrina was without sight and feeling suicidal.
“I was just in shock that somebody looked like that,” Hopkins said when he saw his mom for the first time after the attack.
“It was scary honestly. I saw her hit rock bottom and didn’t know how to deal with it.”
The mother and son game ball tradition dates back to when she was able to watch him play as a child.
Hopkins explained: “When I was a kid, my mom was the first one on the side line in her lawn chair.
“When I got older I wanted to have those memories because that was the last time my mom saw me play.
“I wanted her to be right there, up close and personal. Having that remembrance of my mom being there seeing me as a kid.”
The star receiver saved his mom’s life after a suicide attempt, having already lost his dad to a car crash when he was just five months of age.
Hopkins recalled: “I heard the door open around 3am or 4am.
“I looked in her room and she wasn’t in there, and at this time she was dealing with depression and so she wouldn’t leave her room for anything.
“I saw the front door was still open and was yelling ‘mom where are you?’
“I saw her walking up the street and the highway was right there.
“She didn’t want to turn around so I ran up and grabbed her.”

Playing sports was Hopkins’ escape from the tragedy at home.
He attended Clemson University to stay close to mom and smashed school touchdown records.
Hopkins was a first round NFL Draft pick by the Houston Texans in 2013 and had his mom by his side on the big night.
The electric receiver has been one of the best players in the NFL over the last decade.
This year he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs and stands on the verge of finally winning the sport’s biggest prize.
And he’ll be honouring his dad by wearing a gift his father left in New Orleans.
Hopkins said: “My dad died in 1992 and he left me a couple things – one of them was a mink jacket.
“Running was a way for me to get away from everything. I would run miles every day as a kid.

She put ego aside and put our feelings before herself.
“It all makes me so much stronger. I feel like I’ve got so many angels around me, it’s like I’m going to be protected no matter what.
“Little obstacles, if they don’t go my way, I really don’t even get down. I’ve been through so much.
“My mom overcame a lot to raise us how she raised us. She’s been there for me like a friend.
“Just seeing her happy – that’s the best feeling in the world.”
