MINERAL RIDGE — Judith Ann Stokes passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, surrounded by her family that loved her dearly. She was 85 years old.
Born in Newell, W.Va., on Aug. 4, 1939, a daughter of Gerald and Bertha Rhodes, her parents preceded her in death, along with her brother, Larry Rhodes.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Judy shared 68 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Thomas Elmer Stokes Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Stokes Sr.; her loving children, Teri and Frank Wolford, Thomas and Cheryl Stokes, Lynda and Brad Fedorchak, and Jeri and Randy Cameron; her brother, Gerald and Sharon Rhodes; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She also will be deeply missed by members of her church, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Judy was a proud member of the Rebecca Lodge, First United Methodist Church of Mineral Ridge. She had a passion for sewing and sitting on the beach and found joy in travel, working as a travel agent and exploring new places, alongside her husband.
Her family will forever remember her kindness, creativity and the warmth she brought.
A private service for the immediate family will be held to honor her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Judy by celebrating life, love and the simple joys that bring families together.
