Karun Nair is arguably in the form of his life, having rediscovered his mojo with consistent & mind-boggling performances in domestic cricket. It has been eight years since the Vidarbha captain last played for India and he is now ready to make a comeback to the national side. Nair averages 664 in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy and has single-handedly guided his side into the semis. But he is looking at the larger picture now and is aiming to return to the national side at the next possible opportunity.

Speaking to Sportstar, Nair revealed that he had playing well for the last 16-17 months, adding that playing in County matches helped him gain confidence. After missing most of the 2022-2023 season, during which his home state Karnataka decided to move on from the batter, he found a new home in Vidarbha and has been outstanding in the current season. Karun stated that the intentions were very clear from his side and that he wants to play for India once again.
“If I didn’t feel like that, I wouldn’t go and play county cricket. Why would I do that if I didn’t have the belief in myself to play [for India]? The intentions are very clear from my side. I think I can, and I think I’m good enough,” Karun Nair said.
