Based on the best-selling novel by JP Delaney, the original story about the wrangle between the two couples was set in London but this television adaptation has moved the drama to the rugged, sweeping coastline of Cornwall.
“The story is about being on the edge. It’s about getting in too deep and, not to kind of mix metaphors too much, but Cornish people do literally live on the edge of our country, and they are surrounded by water in a way that our four sort of feel like they’re drowning.
The four-part series, starring James Norton, Niamh Algar, James McArdle and Jessica Brown Findlay, started airing on Sunday 5 January and will conclude on Monday 13 Janaury.
“It’s been an amazing experience… on the second day offilming James McArdle [plays Miles] and I had to surf for a scene which was really fun.
“St Ives is very beautiful and we went pottering around the town during lunch breaks.
“We wanted something to truly define the world in which our characters live in and Cornwall has does that with it’s foreboding seas, crashing waves, beautiful skies and clouds.”
