Dry and windy conditions are in the forecast Monday and through mid-week in San Diego County, with critical fire weather expected for valleys and coastal mountain slopes.
There may be some potential respite from the low humidity with some light rain west of the mountains next weekend, but then the region will return to dry, clear weather, forecasters said.
“Even if interrupted briefly late this week, the recent dominant dry pattern is likely to return early next week with high pressure aloft off the West Coast, dry northerly to northwesterly flow aloft over the western states, and occasional periods of offshore lower-level flow across southern California,” the National Weather Service said.
Meanwhile, a fire weather warning is in effect for the region from Monday afternoon until at least 6 p.m. Wednesday for inland valleys and mountain areas.
