Deion Sanders could be putting on a headset in the NFL in 2025.
The Colorado head coach, who just wrapped up his second season with the Buffaloes, has “strong interest” in the vacant Las Vegas Raiders head coaching job, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Vincent Bonsignore.
Sanders has mentioned that he’s at Colorado for the long haul. That said, he has stated in the past that the chance to coach one of his sons — Shedeur or Shilo — on Sundays could be too good to pass up.
Shedeur Sanders is far and away the more intriguing draft prospect, though. One of the top quarterbacks in the country in 2024, he threw for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions for the Buffs en route to being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and coming in the top 10 of the Heisman Trophy voting. He’s widely expected to be a top 5 pick in April’s NFL Draft; the Raiders, notably, have the No. 6 overall pick.
Bonsignore notes that Tom Brady, a minority owner of the Raiders who has been a mentor for the younger Sanders, will be instrumental in the organization’s search for both a head coach and a general manager. Could Deion Sanders ultimately end up on the Allegiant Stadium sidelines?
