THE devastated husband of a model whose body was dumped outside a hospital 4 years ago will look into her alleged killer’s eyes and demand to know why she was left to die.
Heartbroken Jan Cilliers heads to the Los Angeles Superior Court this week as the trial into the senseless November 2021 deaths of his wife, Christy Giles, and her friend, Hilda Cabrales-Arzola, begins.

Film producer David Pearce was charged in July 2022 with two counts of murder and additional charges related to controlled substances.
The bodies of 24-year-old Giles and her friend, 26-year-old Hilda Cabrales-Arzola, were tragically left outside two separate hospitals in Los Angeles.
Toxicology reports revealed that both women died from “multiple drug intoxication” during a night out in Los Angeles that ended in tragedy.
Brandt Osborn, an actor, and Pearce’s roommate were arrested on the TV show NCIS set and later released on $40,000 bail.
He has pleaded not guilty to two charges of being an accessory after the fact.
In an emotional interview with The U.S. Sun, South African-born Cilliers, a visual effects specialist based in LA, admitted he will never get over losing his wife.
He expects “some kind of closure” at the end of what promises to be an emotional 20 days in court.
Cilliers says the case against Pearce is “very strong” and he fully expects to see him caged for the double murder.
But he wants to know why the girls were left to die.
“When they saw the girls struggling, they could have called an ambulance,” he told The U.S. Sun. “They could have both been easily saved.”
SICKENING DEATHS
Giles was pronounced dead at the scene, while Cabrales-Arzola was admitted to the ICU but sadly passed away later.
Their tragic evening began with a visit to an art exhibit at Soho House in West Hollywood, followed by plans to go clubbing and attend an afterparty in the Hollywood Hills.
However, the night took a devastating turn after both women were exposed to a deadly combination of Class A drugs.
Surveillance footage from the first hospital showed Giles’ body being dumped by two masked men in a car without license plates.
Giles was found unresponsive outside a hospital in Culver City, while Cabrales-Arzola was discovered two hours later outside a medical facility in West Los Angeles.
After spending time on life support, Cabrales-Arzola’s family made the heartbreaking decision to end her care just days shy of her 27th birthday.
Authorities revealed that the women had consumed a toxic mix of heroin, MDMA, cocaine, fentanyl, ketamine, and GHB.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed their deaths were the result of “multiple drug intoxication.”

Now, however, the end is near.
“I don’t think it’s something one will ever get over losing somebody that close to you, especially in such an awful way,” he admitted.
“Three years is a long time to be in limbo. I am just pleased the trial is now starting.”
The U.S. Sun also unearthed pictures of Pearce’s squalid apartment where the two girls spent their final hours. There were also snaps of the 40-year-old with alleged rapist and former porn star Ron Jeremy.
Meanwhile, criminal expert Kelly Hyman, whose excellent Once Upon A Crime in Hollywood podcast expertly dissects the sickening case, told The U.S. Sun that she expects “multiple” women to come forward and reveal their sexual abuse nightmares at the hands of Pearce.
It will be a harrowing experience for everyone, including Cilliers and Giles’ family, who will fly in for the trial from Birmingham, Alabama.
“It’s going to be a shock to the system,” he said when asked about seeing the alleged killer in the same room. “Since the beginning, I’ve been determined to get to the bottom of what happened that night. I want to see justice.”
